Performer and creator Reneltta Arulk in the CCTC's 2011 Canoe Festival production of her one-woman playTumit

The CCTC’s commitment to the development of new work for the stage encompasses the spectrum of approaches to theatrical creation, including playwright-centred and devised models, inter-disciplinary and multimedia methods of inception and presentation, as well as new and exploratory ways of making theatre.

An important mandate of the Centre is to develop work that contributes to an accurate reflection of the diversity of Canada’s population on the national stage.

CCTC projects are generally initiated by the Centre’s staff or through commissioning partnerships with Canadian creators based across the country and beyond.

The Canadian Centre for Theatre Creation does not currently accept unsolicited manuscripts.

What's in Development?

Projects currently under development by the Centre or developed with its assistance are in alphabetical order on the drop down menu for this page.  Projects on hiatus will eventually be accessible in an Archive on a soon to be launched Resources page.
