The Woodcutter is a new one-man play by Don Hannah. CCTC Director Kim McCaw encountered the script as a dramaturg at the Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre's Playwrights' Colony in 2009. The Centre produced the world premiere of the play as part of Working Title 2 in 2010.

A man, lost, dishevelled and exhausted, stumbles into a clearing in a forest where he reviews his recent and distant past in an effort to understand a tragic event in his life.

The World Premiere of The Woodcutter
ran from May 6 - 9, 2010 as part of the CCTC's Working Title 2 mini-festival of productions and readings. The play was mounted in the Second Playing Space of the Timms Centre for the Arts on the University of Alberta main campus with the following cast and production team:

The Woodcutter is workshopped at the Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre's Playwrights' Colony with Kim McCaw as dramaturg.
The Woodcutter receives a World Premiere Production at CCTC's Working Title 2 mini-festival of productions and readings. The production runs for four performances, from May 6 - 9, in the Second Playing Space of the Timms Centre for the Arts at the University of Alberta.
The play receives a reading at the Tarragon Theatre's Play Reading Week.
The play is produced at St. Thomas University in Frederiction, NB (April 19-21).
The Woodcutter is expected to be available in a published double edition that includes The Cave Painter from Playwrights Canada Press.
